The Mimi Award Sponsorship

The Mimi Award Annual Alumni Sponsorship began in 2023. Dreamer Alumni that meet the application requirements can apply to win a dream come true travel experience or educational scholarship valued at up to $15,000.

Application Requirements:

-must be a past Believe in Dreams dreamer recipient
-must be between the ages of 12-22
-must be able to demonstrate evidence of resilience and empowerment planted from the dream received
-must provide 2, non-relative, professional letters of recommendation

Ohio Jobs and Family Services

Services include the state's public assistance, employment services, unemployment insurance, child and adult protective services, adoption, child care, and child support programs.

Rise in Love

Serving families in the suburbs of Cleveland for housing transition program, emergency relief program, monthly food and supply distribution, hot meals, education assistance, employment assistance, and refugee housing.

West Side Catholic Center

Services include meals, clothing & basic needs, housing support, employment and workforce development, family support

Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority

Services include applications for low-income public housing/Section 8, and housing choice vouchers.

Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless

Services include support to find access to shelter and resources - intake line (216) 674-6700.

CHN Housing Partners

Services include affordable housing and apartments, purchase opportunity for leased homes, rent help due to hardship, utility bill assistance, foreclosure/eviction prevention services, tax preparation, financial counseling, energy and weatherization services, and group classes on related topics.

Greater Cleveland Food Banks

Services include a map and list of emergency feeding programs including food pantries, hot meals, and shelters, list of partnering agencies that provide food, and assistance applying for SNAP benefits

Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland

Services include providing resources for hunger relief, hot meals and food rescue.

Another Chance of Ohio

Services include offering free clothing, housewares, small appliances, furniture, and jewelry on a first-come, first-served basis - appt. needed.

Cleveland Furniture Bank

Services include Furniture for Families and Beds for Kids programs along with a thrift store and online ebay store for affordable items — referral is needed.

Diaper Bank of Greater Cleveland

The Diaper Bank of Greater Cleveland partners with local social service agencies to provide free diapers to families in need, while raising awareness of the basic health need for diapers.

ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County

Services include mental health, Aacohol and drug treatment referrals.

Applewood Centers, Inc.

Services include counseling, therapy, case management, psychiatry, and residential treatment.

Beech Brook

Services include counseling, therapy, case management, psychiatry, foster care, early childhood, parent education/support programs.

Bellefaire JCB

Services include counseling and community services, residential treatment, autism services, adoption, foster care, early childhood education, youth homelessness, prevention & early intervention, and mentoring.

Services include counseling, case management, psychiatry, family counseling, and trauma counseling

Cleveland Rape Crisis Center

Services include counseling, support groups, child and family services, advocacy, and 24 hour crisis and support hotline.

Coleman Health Services

Services include support and stability through behavioral health, residential, employment, and supportive services.

FrontLine Service/Mobile Crisis

Provides crisis support to those in need via hotline, face to face assessment, and referrals to ongoing mental health services.

OhioGuidestone

Provides mental health and counseling services, family services, early childhood mental health, psychiatry, autism treatment services, and telehealth.

Aspire Greater Cleveland/Cuyahoga Works

Provides career assessment and counseling, company research, job search skills, and workshops on job strategies, career planning, resume and cover letter writing, and interview techniques.

Cuyahoga Community College

Provides adult diploma program, aspire academic programs.

Ohio Means Jobs

Provides education, occupational training, job match and search assistance, and employment-related youth programs.

Seeds of Literacy

Provides free basic education and GED and HiSET prep.

Youth Opportuntiies Unlimited

For Young adults ages 14-24, services include: programs and services for mentoring, employability skills training, career exploration, and jobs and internships.

Journey Center for Safety and Healing

Provides emergency shelter, trauma therapy, support groups, justice system advocacy, safe and sound supervised visitation center, and the Latina domestic violence project.

Legal Aid Society of Cleveland

Provides legal Aid with civil protection orders, divorce, and custody for victims of domestic violence in the last 6 months,

Ohio Domestic Violence Network

Provides a legal assistance program to survivors of domestic violence, and relocation and safety assistance for survivors.

Asian Services in Action

Federally qualified health centers that offer comprehensive social service programming that provides linguistically and culturally competent support for local immigrants and refugees.

Esperanza Inc.

Provides free personalized mentoring, leadership building, comprehensive post-secondary, and family support to Hispanic students and families.

Spanish American Committee

Provides a bilingual child enrichment center and daycare, programs aimed to break the cycle of poverty, educational opportunities, domestic violence counseling, translation services, and housing and financial literacy services.

Alumni Advisory Committee

The Alumni Advisory Committee is a leadership group established to provide insight, ideas, guidance, and feedback to help guide the direction of the Believe in Dreams program.

Committee members must:

- Be a parent or legal guardian of a dreamer alumni and/or a dreamer alumni that is 18+
- Have strong communication skills
- Be open minded with a strong desire to meet other alumni families
- Have a passion for the mission of Believe in Dreams


Responsibilities of a committee member:

- Attend 3 yearly meetings either in person at CoHatch or via Zoom
- Contribute alumni feedback to support program improvements
- Contribute ideas/perspectives to help solve program-related challenges and encourage alumni engagement
